Dáithí Ó Sé and Kathryn Thomas introduced the 32 contenders in this year’s Rose of Tralee Festival today at the official launch in Airfield Estate.
The 2024 Rose of Tralee International Festival kicks off this Friday, 16th August, with the televised Rose Selection being broadcast live on Monday 19th and Tuesday 20th August on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player.
From Sligo to San Francisco, and Monaghan to Melbourne, spirits were high in Airfield Estate as the 32 International Roses representing the Irish Diaspora across the globe met Dáithí and Kathryn to launch this year’s Rose of Tralee International Festival.

Kathryn said: “I am so delighted and honoured to be back co-hosting the 64th Rose of Tralee with my friend Dáithí. I had an absolute blast last year – we laughed, we cried and we celebrated what it means to be a modern Irish woman. Seeing the girls flourish on stage, being so articulate and so supportive of each other, there’s nothing like it!”
Dáithí commented: “At this stage we’ve met all the 32 Roses and this is where the magic starts! The trick now is to get to know them all so they’re comfortable with us on stage. No doubt, we’ll put together a few crazy party pieces aswell! It’s great to be back and fierce exciting as we head to Tralee for the weekend”
The Rose of Tralee will be available to watch free, live and on-demand by audiences in Ireland and around the world on RTÉ Player.

Features, archive footage, behind-the-scenes content and more will also be available across RTÉ.ie and RTÉ social media platforms over the coming weeks.
James Patrice will return as the backstage Rose Reporter and you can follow all the antics and action on @rteone channels across Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and TikTok.
The official hashtag is #roseoftralee.
