If you thought Mel Gibson couldn’t get any cooler – think again.
The Hollywood star is currently in Dublin shooting a movie – but took a break from set today to hang out with the Irish Defence Force – and take part in a gun salute (of course).
The Braveheart star even stayed in his period costume while taking part in the gun salute.

Mel is currently filming The Professor and The Madman on location at McKee Barracks, but jumped the fence to join the Defence Force 2 Brigade Artillery Regiment’s 21 Gun Salute rehearsal.
The A-lister looked delighted as he got to fire the 25 Pounder Field Gun which was loaded blank demo shells.
