Bob Geldof was back on Irish soil yesterday, for a night of music with his band The Boomtown Rats.
The Boomtown Rats are an Irish new wave band that got together in the mid 70s before breaking up in 1986, only to get back together in 2013.
The Banana Republic singers finally hit Leopardstown Race Course where they were meant to play 40 years ago.

The gig had a host of fashionable ladies at the race course who sacrificed their heels to dance along to some classic songs.
Fashion stylist Lisa Fitzpatrick stunned in an elegant off the shoulder top, paired with a pair of wide black trousers.
Also at the concert was Galway Race’s Best Dressed Lady Bernadette Ni Chadhain who brought the sunshine in an orange crochet top and a gorgeous nautical themed hat and skirt.
